Valentine’s Day activities do not need to be complicated!
Our preschoolers and kindergarteners can have so much Valentine’s Day fun WITHOUT some big fancy set-up.
Making a simple LOVE letter activity is a great way to help kids play with Valentine’s Day and play with letter recognition.
REMEMBER, all kids learn the alphabet on a broad spectrum from age 2-6. Your child will learn letters when they are ready. We don’t need to stress out about this.
I love this Love Stickers Activity – it’s so easy!
In this activity, my daughter (5) is playing with the alphabet – which is one of the best ways to expose kids to letters.
She’s matching the shape of each letter (L O V E) to help her recognize each letter. This helps build her familiarity with these letters.
As she’s hunting and searching for letters, she’s sorting them and engaging with the letters. This is exactly how we help kids build letter knowledge – exposure and context.

On the paper, draw the word LOVE in block / bubble letters.
Take sheets of dot stickers and write the word LOVE – one letter per sticker. To up the challenge, I mix the letters up on the sticker sheet.
Have your child peel off the stickers and put the correct letter onto the word LOVE.

This doesn’t have to be a Valentine’s Day only activity!
You can use this same “style” to create several different sticker sorting activities. My kids love doing this with:
You can make this appropriate for your child!
Remember, kids might only play for a few minutes but will bounce back to this throughout the day(s). I typically leave an activity like this up for a few days and let my kids bounce back and forth to it.
It’s important they have the chance to choose this as their own independent activity.
A Love Stickers Activity is so much fun to play!
This is a simple activity that is so quick to set up – whether for Valentine’s Day or any other day to play.
